The iconic Serengeti national park is one of the largest park in the Northern Tanzania area with a coverage of about 14,763Kilometre square. It lies in the region between the eastern mara region and northeast simiyu region with an area of over 15,000,000 acres of plain savannah vegetation. Getting to Serengeti National park is very accessible both by road and by air.

By road the drive from Arusha is an 8 hours journey, points of entry are various gates such as Naabi hill, Seronera, Ndutu, Kusini, Kirawira, Handajega, Ikoma, Tabora, Lamai, Lobo, Ndabaka, Machochwea, and Kleins.

By Air, the journey takes 1 to 5 hours from Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha Airport. These flights land into one of the various seven airstrips in the Serengeti region. Flights from Serengeti to Zanzibar are also possible as well as those from other major parks such as Lake Manyara and Tarangire.
